Skink or Gecko - Gink or Skecko!

Tayla brought along a little visitor to school today. She found him in her bathroom at home!

We weren't quite sure whether he was a skink or a gecko because his skin looked like a skink and his head like a gecko. Luckily Lauren from Zealandia was able to put us right!
We emailed her and here is her reply:

"Wow – what a cool thing to find in your bathroom!

It is definitely a gecko and looks like a “common” gecko to us: http://www.reptarium.cz/en/taxonomy/Woodworthia-maculatus
They are pretty neat eh?

They are not “commonly” seen though so if you would like to see more around here’s some info on how to create a lizard-safe environment:

Thanks Lauren! We are wanting to develop a mokomoko (lizard) garden and this sort of information is really helpful.
